Hiiragi has commented in one episode that Uta "always manages to seem like she's having so much fun". Like any girl her age, she worries constantly about how Hiiragi thinks of her and often goes out of her way to impress him. She is portrayed as selfless, preferring to put her friends' best interests before her own, and can be stubborn in her own way. She can be loud and whiny when she's embarrassed, and often fights with Kakeru Kogure, her childhood friend who likes her very much. He shows interest in her during the first season but only became an official couple in the 2nd season. [character abilities]: 1. My Melody's Dream Partner (she can sing very well) 2. Can cook to save her life, though burns food easily. 3. ...anything and everything a 14-year-old girl can do. He is the reason why she wanted to learn how to play the violin, but she never could play well all through out the series. She lives with her 2 sisters, and her father who works away from home most of the time. Her mother passed away a long time ago, but Uta still remembers her favorite song, "Shiawase no Hane".
